You want a way to sell your products online, a shop, or you need some sort of website that you can use as a community site, well you may be surprised to hear that this is actually a very simple thing to achieve, far simpler than you could imagine.

I am not what you would call a web designer, I am actually a skilled IT person who happens to be capable in Web building as well as graphics work, entirely self taught. I aso have a full time job doing something entirely different.

I have met lots of people, friends of friends who want to have an online shop, but knowing it can cost many £100's or even £1000's they have always decided no, I simply dont have any money, so I would create the site for them. Here is how it works.

  1. tell them about the shop or CMS I will be using, explaining that it is Open Source so will not cost them any money, I then get some color ideas from them and logo ideas from them, or if they have no logo ideas I get information about the type of products they will be selling and come up with a few ideas of my own based on the theme.
  2. I setup the shopping cart or CMS (believe it or not this takes all of 10 mins to be completed) and begin work on a new design of template, often this will simply be a matter of taking a basic blank template already formatted and modify it extensively to include the design ideas and color of the clients thoughts, I also do this using my own hosting account and setup their domain name (which I will have helped them purchase)
  3. The client previews and requests any modifications or changes
  4. We go over exactly how the shop or CMS will work, what can and cannot be done, and how they can manage all aspects of content themselves.
  5. While I continue to make the tweaks etc, they begin looking at the backend, learn to administer the site themselves.
  6. Finally I integrate their paypal system into the site.

Cost = Hosting and email setup for no charge, website built and modified, again no charge, If you want to pay me for the services thats up to you, and you pay what you think the work is worth to you, or you can pay later, when your business is making money, at the end of the day I have helped you!
